Hutt Gas and Plumbing Systems Ltd has been in business for over 14 years and we boast one of the most highly trained and qualified gasfitting and plumbing teams in the Wellington region. From small beginnings in the local Hutt Valley area, we have grown to a team of over 42 and we now service a range of customers from domestic to large commercial developments.

Scott Adin, Director
A founding member of Hutt Gas and Plumbing, Scott is a qualified Craftsman Gasfitter (Level 2 CoC), Craftsman Plumber, Registered Drainlayer, and has a NZCE (Mech) and is an IQP in Backflow Prevention. He began his career as a cadet in the engineering section of the DSIR, before a career shift into the gasfitting and plumbing industry. At work, Scott gains satisfaction from seeing many projects progress from submission right through to completion. During his spare time, he enjoys mountain biking, squash, running and having a few drinks.
Darren Smith, Director
Darren is one of the founding members of Hutt Gas and Plumbing. After leaving school in 1984, Darren began a plumbing and gasfitting apprenticeship which he completed in 1989. As a qualified Craftsman Gasfitter (Level 2 CoC), Craftsman Plumber and a Registered Drainlayer, Darren has had a hand in all the major projects at Hutt Gas and Plumbing. Darren is also a keen cyclist, having completed Mt Taranaki, Rotorua to Taupo and the ‘Round the Lake’ event in Taupo several times. He has even managed to get several other members of staff into cycling...
Colleen Upton, Director
Colleen joined the Hutt Gas and Plumbing team after subcontracting accounts and administration services to us for a couple of years. Originally self-employed with her own accounts and administration business, Colleen has brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Hutt Gas and Plumbing team. She really enjoys working with people, particularly helping young apprentices grow into their new found career. She also thrives on moulding and growing the company to reach new potential and growth. Outside of work Colleen is the President of the Hutt Valley Wairarapa Master Plumbers, a Director on the NZ Master Plumbers, Gasfitters and Drainlayers Board and a Director of MasterLink Ltd and the Plumbers Journal. Out of work Colleen is a keen follower of her adult children's sporting activities and travels. She has also been known to support Scott and Darren in their cycling pursuits - from the safety of a deck chair!
Roger Carey, Shareholder
Roger began his plumbing and gasfitting career with the Hutt Valley Energy Board, before taking a break to work in his family retail business. He later returned to the plumbing and gasfitting industry and joined us at Hutt Gas and Plumbing. A qualified Craftsman gasfitter (Level 2 CoC), Craftsman plumber and with a limited electrical ticket, Roger brings a good deal of experience and expertise to the sites he works on. His favourite aspect of working with Hutt Gas and Plumbing is the variety of projects we’re involved in and the great team environment. During his time off, Roger is involved in coaching hockey, his local church, and he enjoys taking holidays, fishing, diving, and boating.
